Recently the photographer, Sam MacDiarmid, who I have collaborated with previously on Day of Access, visited Paths for All walks on the Isle of Bute and in Perthshire. As well as documenting the walks he photographed some walking sticks with poems which I gave to these groups. One was a memorial for a member of the Rothesay group, who passed away during the pandemic. The walking stick makes an ideal ‘poem object’, as it has a practical use and can be shared among people.
